THE PLAINS OF MESOGEIA – THE GRAPE VARIETY

The grape variety is the traditional variety that has been cultivated in the area for centuries, the Savvatiano (Vitis vinifera L. “Savvatiano”). It is the main variety for the production of the traditional “Retsina Mesogeion”.

The plains of Mesogeia are the largest plains in Attica and nowadays one of the few oxygen sources of the Eastern Attika basin. It is a rich region of agricultural production, which could play a special role in a production reconstruction process, ensuring a part of nutritional adequacy in our country. The vast agricultural areas produce excellent quality wine, olive oil and various nuts.
